"The Music of Spring"

The colors the textures

The seeds of the earth

The sound of the music

As flowers give birth

The vine of the trumpet

The tinkling of bells

For Jacks in his pulpit

And all seems quite well

Where hearts that are bleeding

For lace of the queen

And ferns of the forest

Are luscious and green

Her birth we're awaiting

For colors we thirst

For winter is present

And coating the earth

But under the blanket

Of frost that is sharp

The music of springtime

Is tuning her harp

- winter is here thus I am thinking of spring - I love the old fashioned flowers: Trumpet Vine, Blue Bells, Jack in the Pulpit, Bleeding Hearts, Queen Ann's Lace and of course the fern - most of which are found in the woods around here -
