"Snap"

Today with love and mercy
The love of God is taught
The book with his direction
Another soul has caught
The bait now used is knowledge
And God has set the trap
He's filled each snare with wisdom
And listens for the snap!
*
- crazy poem but I liked the idea - so many people think that JW's are trapped but in reality we are so well fed spiritually we don't want to leave our supposed "trap" -

"Turtle Lover"

Turtle Lover
Wm. McKinley
*
Here lies a turtle lover
He helped us cross the road
He stopped amidst the traffic
To help us with our load
He carried us to safety
At risk of life and limb
We've come to mourn his passing
And sing our praise of him
For if more men were like him
The world would thus be blessed
For he who loved the turtles
Is better than the rest
*
- my brother stopped amidst heavy traffic on the freeway to help a turtle across the road - told him it was nice of him but he could have been killed - so I had to write him this and sent this little drawing to him too -

"Rustling"

Do you hear the rustling
Bible pages turn
Thousands are now reading
Listen as they learn
Softly oh softly
Seeking what they've heard
Quietly they're looking
Searching through his word
Eagerly advancing
Verse by verse they go
Learning, loving, reading
verse by verse they grow
Gentle though the rustling
Following what's said
They rejoice with pleasure
As God's word is read
*
- written about District Convention and how I sit and listen to the bible pages turn during all the talks being given - it is a nice, soft, rustling sound -

"Tonight I Speak to You"

With monumental pleasure
I speak to you tonight
You help me with my struggle
And daily with my plight
The mountain now before me
To reach the top I pray
For with your holy spirit
I'll conquer it one day
So each day with my battle
Again I'll ask of you
"Pour out your holy spirit
I beg of you I do"
So one day when it's over
And I have reached my goal
Once more I'll come with pleasure
To thank you heart and soul!
*
- written as a sort of thank you note for Jehovah for helping me fight and conquer my personal struggles -

"Hanging On Nothing"

It hangs upon nothing
This orb that we ride
That God has created
With joy and with pride
The earth in its glory
Is soon now to be
For God in his wisdom
Will soon set it free
He'll sponge it and wash it
And rinse it at last
Thus form a new kingdom
Erasing the past
The earth will be shiny
Will sparkle and glow
A place where God's servants
In comfort can grow
"How wise now the maker"
These words we now cry
This orb that we're riding
around him will fly
Though hanging on nothing
And silent and free
A jewel of great value
It has proved to be
For earth wide with pleasure
God's message has spread
The old world has ended
With all of its dread
Thus now as we're riding
This glorious sphere
We're hanging on nothing
With nothing to fear!

"Mothers"

What special people mothers are
We love them one and all
Their strength they give in raising us
They teach us how to fall
For life is full of bumps and pain
With hidden stumbling blocks
And mothers wash away the tears
And in their arms we're rocked
Throughout the your life these blocks appear
And mothers love is there
Prepared to ease the load you fear
With all her love and care
Now show your children of this love
It's your turn now to give
You're teaching others how to fall
Thus strengthen them to live
So through the generations past
A mothers love has grown
And down through each and every child
This love has since been shown
*
- started this for my mother but somehow got all past and future mothers involved - sent it to my mother any how - written many years ago -

"Love Among the Memories"

There's love among the memories
A mothers face I see
So joyous young and tender
It reaches out for me
The pictures of my childhood
Reach back across the years
With mother there beside me
She eased away my fears
She'd kiss away the heartache
And chase away the pain
Then wash away the teardrops
And make me whole again
If memories were rubies
Such riches there would be
For always in my memory
A mothers face I see.
