An elder, an elder

An elder I hear

A man of distinction

Who does now appear

An honor a privilege

He's worked to attain

Position of honor

He'll work to maintain

His God he'll be serving

For him he will stride

To carry his burden

To do so with pride

And now with what pleasure

I write now to say

An elder before me

Appears now today!!

The loss of a loved one

No matter the size

How heavy the heartache

What pain will arise

Of your years of devotion

your love and your care

Your four legged partner

Was fully aware

Yes though he is missing

From your life today

His memory is present

And there it will stay
