"Departing Shadow's"

The power of the wicked one

The world he does control

An evilness that fills the air

Is taking now it's toll

The shadows reach across the land

To snuff the light of hope

And leave behind the searching heart

In darkness now to grope

But through the dreadful, murky mist

A ray of light is seen

Thus they will part the haze ahead

And ask "what does it mean?"

The light will grow much brighter still

As on God's word they feed

They'll leave behind the shadowland

With love and joy they'll read

The air will clear, the mist will lift

The sun begins to shine

For they have found Jehovah God

And them he will refine

So with God's knowledge they have seen

And by his message grown

And shadows all across the land

Away from them have flown

"Love"

Before me now the eyes of love

Expression of such hope

For to Jehovah God they turn

Who taught him now to cope

He spread his wings before his God

Gained comfort from his word

And to his heavenly father turned

And spoke so others heard

He brought to life the meaning of

A faithful loving heart

For joy was spread across his face

To never more depart

So as I sit and look at him

A wondrous face I see

For he is filled with love of God

And shares it now with me

10-24-98 written about an article on inside back cover of October 22, 1998 Awake - young brother name Matt Tapio - who died of cancer and there is a picture of him at his baptism - made me see how joyous he was and his love of Jehovah is spread across his face - so I had to write of what I saw and how he made me feel

"A Brotherhood"

The time has come a brotherhood

To find amidst this world

Thus gather round the banner pole

And watch as it's unfurled

A Christian brotherhood is found

So gather near and stay

For God has promised now a time

Their pain to take away

So keep awake and watcful be

The world now nears it's end

And take to heart Jehovah's word

You can on him depend

The time is growing shorter still

With lots of work ahead

To help our neighbors all to hear

The word of God is read

A family now together strong

Are marching thus as one

The work Jehovah God expects

Must now be finished, done

Identify yourselves today

From this world separate be

The power of the tired one

Is what the world will see

So take to heart Jehovah's word

His message and his way

United strong, a brotherhood

Is laboring today!

A baby a baby

A baby has come

A sweet little bundle

A new life's begun

With tiny wee fingers

And tiny wee toes

A nose like a button

Your love for him grows

He'll take now the center

And you will then see

Your heart has been gathered

For years yet to be

With pleasures arriving

What joy you will earn

For Brendan will teach you

And from him you'll learn

He'll stretch out his fingers

And grasp at your heart

Pull strings you've not thought of

And will from the start

So off you are running

The race you must win

You're raising a baby

"A Baby"

A baby, a baby

A baby you say

A marvelous treasure

Is now on it's way

What joy is before you

Jehovah has said

You await now the moment

That lies just ahead

So thus with great pleasure

I write now to you

I'm thrilled and I'm happy

A baby is due!

"Spreading His Word"

To work for the kingdom

Reach out for that goal

And preach of Jehovah

With your heart and soul

He'll be always present

He'll guide and direct

He'll give you the courage

You'll earn his respect

So forward with pleasure

Each day we will go

To teach of Jehovah

Our message must grow

So take it to others

And others in turn

Will speak to still others

So others can learn

What joyous occasions

Earth wide will be found

By teaching and preaching

The message resounds

God's people are active

In spreading his word

They go forth in preaching

Til all man has heard

We read of their exploits

And learn of their ways

Noah and Abraham

Were faithful and strong

They walked with Jehovah

To him did belong

Direction and guidance

Their God would provide

They walked with Jehovah

With nothing to hide

And Jesus by walking

The road that he took

His father he followed

And never forsook

In God's word of wonders

Examples abound

Where Abraham, Noah

And Jesus are found

Humble now wirth honor

Going forth with pride

Praise our God Jehovah

Walking side by side

Shoulder will meet shoulder

When we work as one

Pull the load together

"Aching Heart"

My heart is aching filled with pain

From what I've learned tonight

I know not what to say or do

To take away my fright

So to Jehovah God I turn

For comfort he will bring

I'll raise my voice and turn to him

And of his praises sing

He'll take away the pain I feel

Erase away my fears

Chase away the heartache

And wipe away the tears

So I must always to him go

And seek his loving arms

For he will wrap me up in warmth

And keep me free from harm

I'm nestled now in his embrace

Secure in all I find

I feel the strength, the love I've found

The pain is left behind

And though the world surrounds me still

As I am well aware

He'll hold the evil one at bay

For I am in his care
