“A Family”

I sit here now and think of you
How far away you’ve gone
I know that you will learn to love
To be a part belong
Jehovah’s people everywhere
A family at its best
Will hold you close and keep you safe
No matter what the test
The move you’ve made, to sever ties
Was not an easy one
Your work does take you elsewhere now
A new life has begun
But you are with us always now
Though many miles away
In hearts, my young friends, you will find
That you are there to stay
So take your time, explore the land
And seek its secrets out
And look at all its majesty
With mountains all about
Just think about Jehovah God
And all that he provides
How beautiful the universe
In which the earth resides
As on his footstool you now ride
Around the sun you’ll go
And each day as it passes by
Your confidence will grow
Though far away and all alone
The two of you will feel
The love of family everywhere
Magnificent and real

“Syllables and Sounds”

I love to write and write and write
I know not what about
But words I chase across the page
A message now to shout!
My heart and mind I exercise
And prisoners I now take
I capture all the words I need
And sentences I make
I fill the page with words of mirth
Or sad depressing times
I wrap them all around me too
Like clutching, sticky vines!!
I gather up the needed strength
And off again I go
I’m chasing syllables and sounds
That once again will grow
Into a glorious serenade
That all will now attend
For I am writing all these words
To mesmerize my friends!!!
