"Empty"

Racism makes my stomach turn
Racism such a disgusting worm
It eats away the heart and soul
With slimy slithering inroad goals
It works on simple minds tis true
It works its evil through and through
Racism, evilness so deep
Enough to make the wise man weep
But wise men are not ones who turn
For evilness is what they spurn
Where empty mind and heart abound
A racist you have surely found
For
Within a racist you will find
An empty heart and soul and mind
*
- I am so glad to be in an organization where all are equal - I watched a news program that showed racism in action in some small town in the midwest and it made me so sad - I, of course, went into rhyme over it -

"One Amazing Moment"

My heart is slowly mending
With time the pain recedes
And words now said in comfort
Will swallow up my needs
The joy of life eternal
My mother now awaits
Asleep she is and resting
The word of God relates
But one amazing moment
With joy I'll look upon
The day of resurrection
My mothers pain is gone
She'll walk among the flowers
The birds will now be free
To perch upon her fingers
What joy I then will see
So for Jehovah's kingdom
My heart will now await
He'll bring to life a banquet
And fill my mothers plate!

John 16:22"...and your joy no one will take from you..."

- a dear friend sent me a card at the time of my mothers death and spoke about the amazing moment when she would be resurrected and I went into rhyme from there -

"Names of the Apostles"

Now there's Simon and there's Simon
And there's James and then there's James
And a Judas and a Judas
And their brothers and their names!!!
Now Simon has an Andrew
And poor James how has a John
And Nathanel in his wisdom
Has a tree to lean upon
Where there's Matthew and his taxes
There's a doubting Thomas too
Thus that leaves only Philip
Nathanael's friend it's true

"Small Beginnings"

I got to see a river
A mighty one I hear
It starts out just a trickle
That's just knee deep or near
I stood beside that "trickle"
And thought about the day
I've crossed that mighty river
Along her distant ways
I've crossed her in St. Louis
Dubuque and New Orleans
I've crossed her in the daylight
And night time too it seems
But never thought I'd stand there
To see that trickle run
To see her small beginnings
To know what's just begun

"Glorious Run"

Just over the surface
Of the watery deep
His fingers caressing
The earth now asleep
(Ge 1:2)
His spirit was active
His work had begun
Upon the wind walking
A glorious run
(Ps 104:3)
Creation, it's splendor
His word does relate
Each day, its construction
what pleasures await
The earth and its shaping
His fingers did form
Til one day with wonder
Such beauty was born

"Your Baby and You"

*
Cory and Lorrie
And baby make three
A sweet little bundle
For all here to see
A wondrous invention
Are babies it seems
Your heart fills with wonder
Your head full of dreams
You're planning and scheming
His future tis true
But wrapped in the present
Your baby and you
And all through the years
Ahead you will find
What pleasures and treasures
And joy will unwind!
